Obituary



Goffstown– Frank J. ”Pops” McGuire, 88, died July 17, 2012 at Catholic Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was born in New York, NY. on March 15, 1924 the son of Francis J. and Isabelle Ann (O’Shea) McGuire. He served his country in the U. S. Air Force in World War II as a radio operator/gunner aboard B17’s in the 532 Bomb Squadron of the 8th Air Force. His squad successfully completed 36 missions in the European Theatre.

He was an Air Traffic Controller for the Federal Aviation Agency for over 20 years. He was very active and held numerous positions with P.A.T.C.O, (The Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization) and served as former president of the local union chapter in Nashua NH. He was also proud of his involvement with the L.I.F.E Cancer Survivor Support Group in Nashua.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Georgianna (Folkers) McGuire, 3 daughters, Barbara and Patricia McGuire, all of Goffstown and Carolyn Boisvert of Milford. Their families include 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service and reception service will take place on Sunday at 5:30 PM in Bedford Four Square Church at 12 Station Rd. in Bedford. Burial and military honors will be on Monday at 1:30 PM in NH Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN.38105-1942.
