Louise S. (Rivard) Marotti, age 92 of Brockton died Tuesday July 17, 2012 surrounded by her family at Colony House Healthcare in Abington. She was the loving wife for 69 years of the late Dominick Marotti. Louise was born and raised in Windsor, Conn. a daughter of the late Rene and Marie (St. Laurent) Rivard and for over 20 years she had been a resident of Brockton, most recently living at Caffrey Towers. Louise previously lived in East Hartford, Conn. where she had been a longtime parishioner of St. Mary Church. When living in Connecticut Louise was the manager of the cosmetic department for Grants and Woolworth Stores and had been an aide at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford and a private nanny.
In her free time, Louise enjoyed praying and watching Boston Catholic television. Her life ministry was to help others and offer counsel to those who sought her help. She enjoyed time spent with her family and animals. Louise was most proud of her faith and the accomplishments of her family.
Louise was the devoted mother of June Chin and her husband The Honorable Richard Chin of Brockton and the late Dominick L. Marotti and Marie Elena Marotti. She was the cherished grandmother of Lawrence Marotti, Kimberly Strano, Laurie Sayers and Jamie Chin and the late Nicholas and Kenneth Marotti. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Seth, Joshua and Christina Strano, David, Matthew, Brittany, Ryan, Jason and Adam Marotti and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the Yvonne Smith of Kentucky, Edmund “Chi Chi” Rivard, Arthur Rivard and Veronica Ann DeGray all of Conn. and the late Rene, Charles and Alphee Rivard and Antina Dean.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday 4-8 pm with a prayer service at 6 pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Friday at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass Christ The King Parish at 10 am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery.
