BEVERLY: Helen T. (Uyeno) Sakamoto, 84, died Thursday, June 29, 2012 at her home in Brooksby Village. She was the wife of the late Richard Sakamoto.
Born in Los Angeles, CA on May 30, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Naokazu and Shizuko (Ikuta) Uyeno. She has resided in Beverly for many years before moving to San Diego, CA in 1988 and returned to the North Shore in 2007.
Helen was employed as an Administrative Assistant for the founding President of Bunker Hill Community College in Boston. She had also once worked at General Electric, Ventron, North Shore Community College and Goff Realty for several years. She enjoyed life; she was an avid golfer and a founding member of the Thompson Country Club in North Reading. She also loved playing bridge, dancing and traveling.
She is survived by her two sons, William T. Sakamoto of Lynn and Robert A. Sakamoto of Pompano Beach, FL, a grandson, Bryan R. Sakamoto of Arlington, VA and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral services will be privately held at the convenience of the family.
