Beverly G. (Cook) Butler, age 81 of Brockton, died Sunday July 15, 2012 surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife for 61 years of Robert A. Butler, Sr. Born and raised in Brockton, Beverly was the daughter of the late Arthur and Catherine (Drake) Cook and remained a lifelong resident of the city. A 1949 graduate of Brockton High School she also attended LaBaron Beauty Academy. Beverly was devoted to her home and family and was a stay at home mother who was also a “second mom” and child care provider to the neighborhood children.
Beverly loved to travel and spend summers at the family beach house in Kingston. She was an avid dancer who loved ballroom and line dancing with her husband Saturday nights at Savani’s, Bobby Hackett’s and Roseland. She also loved preparing for parties and holidays with decorating and baking.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her eight devoted children Christine Butler Krafton, Robert A. Butler, Jr., Catherine Butler Smith, Beverly Butler Wright, Erin Butler Parsekian, Leah Butler Peper, Shawn P. Butler and Arthur W. Butler. She was the grandmother of Justin Krafton, Christina Krafton Murray, Robert A. Butler III, Jonathan Butler, Howard Wright, Jr., Alexandra, Victoria and Matthew Wright, Holly and Brendan Smith, Jeremy Cataquet, Liam Parsekian, Michael and Jack Butler, Sean and Caroline Peper. She also leaves one great grandson Christian Krafton and many nieces and nephews. Beverly was the sister of the late George, Thomas, Milton and Arthur Cook.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Thursday at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 10:30 am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery.
