Breckinridge T. E. Stoddart, formally of West Hartford, CT and Amelia Island, FL, died July 14, 2012 surrounded by his family at Windham Assisted Living in Windham, NH. He was born April 5, 1918 in Petersburg, VA, son of Robert S. and Julia (Ten Eyck) Stoddart. Breck graduated from Yale University in 1939, and served as a Captain in the U.S. Army until 1945. Josette Imkamp, his wife of 41 years, predeceased him. Upon his retirement as Vice President of The Hartford Insurance Group, he engaged in boat building at his summer home in Wesport PT, MA. In 1987 he relocated to Amelia Island, FL where he traveled, played golf and enjoyed hosting his family. Breck leaves behind a daughter, Joan and her husband Dr. Donald Grossman of West Palm Beach, FL; son Robert and his wife Frances of East Hampstead, NH; son Breckinridge of Chicago, IL; and six grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are private at the convenience of the family. The Peabody Funeral Homes of Derry and Londonderry are assisting the family with arrangements.
