Emily S. Barton, 100, of Manchester, NH died Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Mt. Carmel Rehab and Nursing Center in Manchester. She was born on October 6, 1911 in Derry, NH, a daughter of the late Arthur and Icona (Pitman) Emery. Mrs. Barton was a longtime Derry resident and spent a few years living in Tilton, NH. In her early years, Mrs. Barton enjoyed sewing and knitting. She was a former member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara A. Wilkinson of Gilford, NH, four grandchildren, Lynn Anderson and her husband Daniel of Sandown, Dona Davis and her husband Steven of Auburn, Kim Jennings and her husband Gregg of Seattle, WA, and Beth Hague and her husband Robert of Barnstead, NH, six great grandchildren, Stephanie Anderson, Ryan Anderson, Brittney Davis, Megan Davis, Steven Jennings and Emily Jennings. She was predeceased by her husband Maynard Barton in 1970, one daughter Jean Natoli in 2006, as well as her sister, Marie Hamblett formerly of Derry and her brother Charles Emery formerly of Pembroke.
A calling hour was held on Thursday, July 19, 2012 from 8:30 – 9:30am in the Chapel of Mt. Carmel Rehab and Nursing Center, 235 Myrtle Street, Manchester. Funeral services followed at 9:30am in the Chapel. Burial followed at Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry, NH. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry is in charge of the arrangements.
