STURBRIDGE___Sharlene R. (Fortin) Simon, 70, of Sturbridge, passed away on 5/5/2004 after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Lillian Bonanno and the late Gaston Fortin.
She leaves behind her devoted husband of twenty years Fred Simon, and is survived by her five children, Richard Lawrence and Valerie Ledger of Hubbardston, Robert Lawrence of Princeton, Pamela Puchala of Millbury and Randall Lawrence of Auburn. She was a loving grandmother to eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is also survived by her two sisters, Doris Collette of Millbury, Jacqueline Paquette of St Petersburg Fl, and her stepfather Sammie Bonanno of Worcester.
She worked for many years at the Wigwam restaurant in Worcester, the Travelers Restaurant in Union Ct, and was a Friendly Toys dealer until her retirement. She was the secretary for the New England Country Music Association for many years and held various offices in the Sturbridge Mobile Home Park, the community where she and her husband resided.
A memorial service will be held in her honor on Friday May 7th at 9:30 Am at St Peters Church, 931 Main St., Worcester. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to: The American Lung Association, The American Heart Association, or The American Cancer Society.
