WORCESTER___Marie B. (Boucher) Bacon, 92, of 6 Wachusett St., died Thursday May 6 in Beaumont Nursing Center – Westborough. Her husband, Harold E. Bacon, Sr., died in 1965.
She leaves a daughter-in-law, Frances (Bergin) Bacon of Southboro; a sister, Valeda M. Aubertine of Worcester; 11 grandchildren, Deborah Smith of Texas; Renee Hinkerson of Colorado; David Alexander of West Brookfield; Scott Alexander and Stephen Alexander both of Worcester; Teresa Mauro and her husband Steve, Tom Bacon and his wife Diane all of Southboro; Michael Bacon of Westboro; Rob Bacon and his wife Dawn of Northboro; Dennis Bacon of Marlboro and Jim Bacon of Orlando, Fl., 14 great-grandchildren 2 great great-grandchildren and nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a son, Harold E. Bacon, Jr., in 1996, a daughter, Janet M. Alexander in 1998 and two granddaughters, Cheryl A. Alexander in 1960 and Rhonda Brooks in 2003. She was born in Lowell, daughter of Louis and Albina (Pichette) Boucher and had lived here 80 years.
Mrs. Bacon was a senior clerk 12 years in the City of Worcester Treasurer’s Office and retired in 1976. Before then she worked 15 years for Paper Craft Greeting Card Co. Marie was a graduate of Becker College.
She was a member of Notre Dame Church and the Retired State County Municipal Employees Association.
The funeral will be held on Monday May 10 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Notre Dame des Canadiens Church, 5 Salem Square. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held Monday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN., 38108 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
