Obituary

Judith A. (Sawyer) Dupuis, age 66 of Brockton, entered into eternal life on July 12, 2012. Judy is the beloved wife and best friend of her devoted husband John J. Dupuis. Judy was born August 3, 1945 in East Bridgewater to the late Howard G. and Iva M. (Parrott) Sawyer. Before moving to Brockton in 2005, Judy spent most of her life in East Bridgewater and briefly lived in Hanson, Halifax and Boston. She was a 1963 graduate of East Bridgewater High School and a 1965 graduate of Katherine Gibbs School in Boston, where she mastered the skill and developed her love for typing.
Judy was a legal secretary for 34 years for the Boston Law Firm of Nutter McClennan and Fish and retired in 2008. She was a longtime communicant of the Good Shepherd Reformed Episcopal Church of Easton, formerly of Brockton. Judy’s life was full of passion, passion for her faith in God and reading the Bible; for her love of country and what it meant to be an American; for the arts including trips to the ballet while eating the required Junior Mints for the event; for dancing and playing the piano; for her time spent outdoors that included trips to the Cape, gardening, cycling and walking, especially the walks supporting her nephews living with Cystic Fibrosis; and for her love of animals especially her beloved beagles Belle and Cinnamon. She enjoyed lunch with friends and good conversation with both friends and strangers alike. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered for her cheerful spirit, playful sense of humor and genuine kindness.
In addition to her husband, she is also survived by her four siblings Joan Leland of RI and her late husband Chet, Janet Mills and her husband Jack of Scituate, Jean Strauss and her husband Steve of CO and Howard G. Sawyer and his wife Penny of Raynham; and her nine nieces and nephews who were so close to her heart. She was also the aunt of the late Polly Whitmarsh.
