Josephine L. (Collins) Stone, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, passed into eternal life on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at her daughters home in Charlestown after a long illness. She was 93 years old.
Josephine was born in Boston on August 23, 1918, a daughter of the late Daniel Collins and Sarah (Connors) Collins. Josephine grew up in Charlestown where she attended the Boston Public School system. Josephine worked for over 20 years as a Teachers Aide for the Boston Public System.
Josephine is the beloved wife of the late Herbert B. Stone. She is the devoted mother of Helen O'Donnell of Charlestown, Sally Denn of Weymouth, Beverly Gallagher of Florida, Martha Dwyer of Charlestown, Roger Britton of Charlestown and the late Herbert Stone and Robert Stone. She is the loving grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also pre-deceased by 7 brothers and sisters.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours for Josephine on Monday morning, July 16, 2012 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
