Maria DiMascio, 85 of Medford, died Thursday after a long illness in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Medford, MA.
Born in Italy, she lived in Medford since 1981 and was the daughter of the late Michele and Angela DiPietro.
Maria worked at the former European Restaurant for 26 years and retired in 1997.
Beloved wife of the late Sigismondo DiMascio. Devoted mother of Giovanna Valentini of Revere, Luciano and Domenico DiMascio both of Medford, Antonio DiMascio of Wakefield and Anna Bettinelli of Stoneham. Loving grandmother of Maria Brito, Sandra Valentini, Cristina, Steven, Anthony, Andrew, Gina and Derek DiMascio, Brianna and Joseph Bettinelli, and the late Stefania DiMascio. Loving great grandmother of Christian, Brandon and Matthew Brito. Sister of Antonia Zola of Argentina, Regina DelMonaco of Quincy, Romeo DiPietro of Medford, and the late Giulio, Erminio, Domenico DiPietro and Enrichetta Frost.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Monday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4-8. Services will conclude with entombment at Woodlawn Mausoleum, Everett.
