Mary E. (Cahoon) Dole, of Northborough, MA, wife of the late Warren C. Dole and daughter of the late Christopher L. and Edith (Weston) Cahoon, formerly of 85 Thurber Avenue, Brockton, MA passed away on July 10, 2012 peacefully in her home. She graduated from the following: Brockton High School, Williams Business College, and Forsyth School for Dental Hygienists’ in Boston, MA. Mary attended Boston University and Tufts for post graduate courses in Dental Hygiene. In 1982, she received the prestigious Alfred C. Fones award from the American Dental Hygienist Association for her outstanding service and dedication to the Dental Hygiene profession with over 25 years of continuous service in private practice and 25 years of continuous active membership in the American Dental Hygienists’ Association. In 1986, she was presented a certificate of appreciation on the 70th Anniversary of the Forsyth School for Dental Hygienists, for her leadership and dedication to the Forsyth School for Dental Hygienists’, and her contribution as an outstanding alumna. In 1993, she was presented an award from the Massachusetts Dental Hygienists’ Association, Metropolitan Component as the “Outstanding Hygienist of the Year” from Metropolitan. Then in 1994, she was chosen as the “Outstanding Hygienist of the Year” of Massachusetts. She was a member of the Cahoon Museum of American Art and was a cousin of Ralph Cahoon, the artist. She is a member of Christ Congregational Church, Plimoth Plantation and of the Massachusetts Society of Mayflower Descendants – descendant of Dr. Samuel Fuller.
A private graveside service was held Friday at Melrose Cemetery, Brockton, MA. Mr. Robert Bendell, cousin of Mary Cahoon Dole, officiated at the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Mary Cahoon Dole’s memory to Forsyth School for Dental Hygienists or Dr. Esther M. Wilkins Forsyth Scholarship Fund, c/o Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Services, 179 Longwood Avenue, Boston, MA 02115.
