Dartmouth – Joaquim O. Silva, age 58, passed away at home on Thursday July 12, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Lourdes (Branco) Silva. Mr. Silva was the father of Al Silva of New Bedford, Fernando Silva of Dartmouth and Brian Silva companion of Stephanie Rocha of New Bedford. Joaquim is also survived by his brother Albio Oliveira, sister Idalina Oliveira both of Portugal and several nieces and nephews
Mr. Silva was a son of the late Maria (Oliveira) de Lourdes and Amadeu Gomes da Silva. He was born in Feijao, Portugal and has lived in this area since 1981. Joaquim worked for Luzo Auto body as a mechanic’s helper.
Mr. Silva’s funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. Monday at 8:45 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church South Dartmouth at 10 A.M., Burial will be at Rural Cemetery. Relatives and Friends are invited. Visiting hours are Sunday, from 5-8 P.M.
