Arthur E. Lemberg, 67, of Dartmouth died Thursday May 6, 2004 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Norma (Silva) Lemberg.
Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Edwin and Hazel (Ross) Lemberg, he lived in Dartmouth for most of his life.
He was a graduate of Dartmouth High School. He will be remembered for his willingness to lend a hand when help was needed.
Mr. Lemberg was a shellfisherman. He had been a manager for the Cliftex Corporation for several years. He had also worked at New Bedford Ship Supply.
Survivors include his wife; a brother, Edwin Lemberg and his wife Marie; a son, Peter Lemberg; a daughter, Martha Staley; three stepchildren, Randy Silva, Kelly Brown, and Jody Silva; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and several grandchildren.
He was the father of the late Randi (Lemberg) Groat, and brother of the late Christopher Lemberg.
His Memorial Service will be held at the Seamen's Bethel, Johnnycake Hill, New Bedford, on Sunday May 23, 2004 at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
