Obituary

HOLLAND: Richard H. Desrosiers 80, of Morse Lane, died Wednesday, July 11 in UMASS Memorial Hospital-119 Belmont St., Worcester.

He leaves his wife of 23 years, Cecilia M. (McQuiston) Desrosiers, his daughter Diane Haynes and her husband Kevin of Spencer, two brothers Paul Desrosiers and his wife Marie of Worcester and William Desrosiers and his wife Nancy of Barre, grandchildren Michelle and Richard, and two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews including a special nephew James Desrosiers of Jefferson, his step-son Henry R. Recor and his wife Marissa of Westwood, brother-in-laws Michael McQuiston and his wife Betty of E.Douglas, and Walter McQuiston and his wife Judy of Sutton, sister-in-law Theresa Ballon and her husband James of Oxford. He is predeceased by a son Richard R. Desrosiers in 2004 and a brother Robert Desrosiers in 1988.

Dick was a lifelong auto mechanic working most recently at Speedy Muffler in Worcester and retired from Sears Automotive Dept. in Auburn after working there 10 years in 1987. He was a longtime volunteer in the kitchen at the Holland Senior Center. He was an avid and skilled bowler for over 10 years at the Auburn Ten Pin Lanes. He built and drove stock cars throughout New England for many years. He was a former member of the Corvette United Club.

Born in Worcester, he was the son of George and Alexandria (Allard) Desrosiers, graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School and later served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Private funeral services and calling hours will be held in the MORIN-MORRISON FUNERAL HOME,1131 Main St., Leicester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
