Auburn – Barbara A. (Gardella) Mitchell, 73, of Auburn died peacefully at home with her family by her side on Tuesday, July 10th after a long illness.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 50 years Robert A. Mitchell; her children; Jacqueline A. Berube and her husband James of Sturbridge, Tracy A. Williams of Dudley, Nancy A. Sweeney and her husband Steven of Ledyard, CT and Robert A. Mitchell Jr. and his wife Linda of Worcester; 9 grandchildren, Dawn, Shane, Eric, Ashley, Julianna, Gabriella, Olivia, Lauren and Mitchell; 2 great grandchildren, Cody and Tyler and many nephews and nieces.
Mrs. Mitchell was born in Worcester, daughter of the late William and Anna (Waitkus) Gardella and is also predeceased by a brother Robert Gardella and a sister Lillian Coffey. Barbara is a graduate of Commerce High School and worked at the Paul Revere Insurance Company in Worcester.
Barbara enjoyed many things in her lifetime, especially going to the ocean and spending time with her family and friends.
