Rita (Raffaela) Coriani, age 99 of Somerville, Passed away Saturday in the Winthrop House, in Medford after a brief Illness.
Mrs. Coriani was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Carlo and Amelia (DeAngelis) Rizzo. A homemaker most of her life, she was more then passionate about her hobbies. Rita was always sewing, whether it was one of her over 35 patch quilts, pot holders, or aprons, it was from her heart. They always seemed to be distributed at one of her many luncheons or tea parties. She was known for skill with plants, loved to go to plays and musicals, and most of all her desire to travel.
She is survived by a daughter Rita Coriani of Somerville. A loving sister of Lena Sulprizio and Lucy Shearman both of Concord and the late Betty Stellato, Jennie Picariello, and Dr. Enrico Pepe. Also surivived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Wednesday at 9AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 45 Alewife Brook Pkwy., Cambridge, at 10AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 2- 4 & 7 - 9 and Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9. Services will conclude with burial at St. Michael Cemetery, Boston.
