Obituary


Geraldine J. (Collum) Colantoni age 79 of Brockton, died Wednesday July 11, 2012 at Signature Healthcare in Brockton after a period of failing health. Born and raised in Boston a daughter of the late David and Mary (Delaney) Collum, she had been a resident of Brockton since 1969.
For several years Gerry had been employed as a receiver for Hit or Miss and previously as a seamstress at Andrew Dutton.
Gerry enjoyed playing Bingo in Brockton and West Bridgewater and trips to Atlantic City and Foxwoods. She also enjoyed camping and fishing at Blueberry Hill Campground in Plymouth. She never forgot the excitement of her first trip to Disney World. Gerry was a Gold Star Mother and will be remembered as a fighter.
Gerry was the mother of Stephen Colantoni and his wife Theresa of Whitman and the late Sgt. Michael Colantoni, US Army. She leaves Theresa’s daughters Krystal and Angela Aicardi, her companion of many years James Luther of South Easton and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late David and Joseph Collum, Mildred Jennings, Irene Van Vorran and Lillian Brownell.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street, Brockton Friday at 5-8 pm. Funeral Service in the Funeral Home Saturday at 10 am. Burial will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. Gerry’s family would like to thank the staff of the TCU at Signature Healthcare for their kind and compassionate care.
