Pauline M. (McGurk) Codi, a resident of Medford for more than 50 years and beloved wife of the late Ray Codi, died at the Courtyard Nursing Center in Medford on Tuesday evening, July 10, 2012. She was 85 years old.
Born in Allston, Massachusetts, on January 25, 1927, she was a beloved daughter of the late William and Margaret (MacNeil) McGurk. Mrs. Codi was a graduate of the Vespar George College of Art in Boston and was employed by Jackson & Moreland Engineering as a graphic designer for many years. In her spare time, Mrs. Codi enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and playing her guitar. She also enjoyed painting and drawing and she was a wonderful cook. Pauline was the editor of the MA Chapter of the Mothers of Twins Association Newsletter and co-authored “Twin Care in a Nutshell” Above all, Pauline was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She will be missed by her loving children; Brain G. Codi of Medford, Sharon M. and her husband Paul Turcott of Somerville, Joanne M. Codi of Winthrop, William N. Codi of Medford and Joseph D. and his wife Kristine E. Codi of Quincy, brother; William McGurk of Canada, granddaughters; Jeanine A. Codi-Dirienzo and Kayla S. Codi and several nieces and nephews. She was also the devoted sister of the late Anita Kusleika and Jean McGurk.
Her funeral was held from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Saturday, July 14, 2012, at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends are respectfully attended. Visiting hours were held on Friday, July 13, 2012, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
