Lola Margaret McArthur Sanders, age 77, died Monday, July 9, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. She was born May 3, 1935 in Fayetteville, NC to the late James D. and Maggie Faircloth McArthur. Margaret was retired from Big Yank Corporation after 42 years of service as Payroll Clerk. She loved going to church and was an active member of Jumper's Chapel Methodist Church in Water Valley. Margaret enjoyed playing the drums with the band, Vallie Echoes, cooking and caring for her family, shopping, traveling and spending time with family friends and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 12, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Fred Eakes and Bro. Joel Jones officiating. Burial will be in Pine Crest Memorial Gardens in Yalobusha County, MS with Damon Ross, Joey Brunner, Ronnie Snider, Donnie Laughlin, Larry Davis, Steve Ross, Aidan Ross and Braylee Brunner serving as pallbearers. Clinton McKinney, Johnny Gullette, Ramesh Govan, Paul Phillips, Gene Golden, Max Bowles, Lee Eubanks, Dan Wright, Bill Forsyth and Billy Marter will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Margaret is survived by her husband of 57 years, Hubert H. Sanders of Water Valley, MS; two daughters, Vivian Snider (Ronnie) and Cindy Ross all of Water Valley, MS; two sisters, Mae Anna Wilkes of Washington, NC and Virginia Trask (Doug) of Hamlet, NC; a sister-in-law, Dot McArthur of Richmond, VA; a brother-in-law, Donnie Laughlin (Rachel) of Driver's Flat, MS; two grandchildren, Damon Ross (Hope) and Dana Brunner (Joey) both of Water Valley, MS; and three great-grandchildren, Aidan Ross, Addison Ross, and Braylee Brunner.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Justine Plummer and two brothers, Clyde McArthur and William McArthur.
