Kevin P. Bennett, Vice President & Business Representative, I.U.O.E. Local # 4. A 5 year resident of Ayer, former 30 year resident of Billerica and formerly of Melrose, passed into eternal life on Monday, July 9, 2012 at his home in Ayer. He was 62 years old.
Kevin was born in Boston on November 23, 1949, one of 9 children to the late Paul Bennett and Grace (Donovan) Bennett. Kevin grew up in Melrose where he attended Melrose Public Schools and graduated from Melrose High School in 1968. Kevin has been a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers for 43 years and has dedicated his loyalty to the union and became Vice President and Business Representative. He enjoyed his antique cars and the Patriots but his pride in life was his family and union.
Kevin is the beloved husband of 40 years to Denise M. (Dillon) Bennett. He is the devoted father of Jennifer Bennett Feudo and her husband John of Littleton and Daniel Bennett of Franklin. He is the loving Pa to Madison and Brynn. He is the beloved brother of Richard Bennett of Waltham, Joan Aalto of Marston Mills, Beverly Archambeault of Sagamore Beach, Pamela Sciuto of Salisbury, Barbara Archambeault of E Sandwich, Paul Bennett of Plymouth, William Bennett of E. Sandwich and the late John Bennett. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Kevin's Funeral on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main St. Melrose followed by his Funeral Mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. Visiting hours will be on Friday, July 13, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
