Obituary





Maurice R. Sicard, a lifetime resident of Lawrence, died peacefully Sunday, July 8, 2012 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill.

Maurice, son of the late George and Marie (Goudreau) Sicard, was born in Methuen on December 9, 1927. His beloved wife, Jeannette Y. (Dubois) Sicard died in 2007. Maurice was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and later attended Lowell Tech, studying engineering. He enjoyed golf, bowling and playing softball.

Maurice will be sadly missed by his children, Linda Stoker of Florida, Jane Gillespie and her husband William of Methuen, Paul E. Sicard of Benton, Maine, Diane M. Weaver and her husband Michael of Auburn, New Hampshire, John R. Sicard and his wife Pierrette of Derry, New Hampshire and Robert D. Sicard and his wife Brenda of South Lawrence; one brother, Leo Sicard of Lawrence, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sons, Raymond E. Sicard, George Sicard and Roger R. Sicard and two sisters, Peggy Proposki and Theresa Gabriel.

Family and friends are planning to honor and celebrate Maurice’s life by gathering for his Memorial Mass in St. Monica’s Church, 212 Lawrence St., Methuen on Satuday, July 14, 2012 at 9 AM. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions in his memory be made to the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, 360 North Ave., Haverhill, MA 01830.
