Obituary

Arthur Cormier, Age 87 of Salem, died unexpectedly Friday, July 6, 2012 at his home in Salem. He was the husband of the late Frances M. (Soucy) Cormier.

Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Oliver and Yvonne (LeBel) Cormier. A veteran of World War II, he served in the European and African Theater Campaign with 140th Ordinance Automotive Maintenance Battalion. Following the war, he returned to Salem and for the next 30 years worked for the Salem Glass Company. Arthur was a member of the Glazers Union, Local 1004 under DC 35. He was also a member of the VFW, Witch City Post 1524 as well as the Council on Aging.

He is survived by a daughter Pauline L. Blasi of Rowley, 6 granchildren, Johanna & Katherine Blasi, & Adam Blasi and his fiance, Kathryn Van Horne, Michelle & George Doolin, Karen & John Dealy, Mark & Lisa Cormier. He is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Paul A. Cormier, and brothers, Donald and Paul Cormier.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. to be followed by his funeral mass in St. James Church, Federal St., Salem at 11:00 A.M..
