Anita (Belmore) Sperduti, 89, of Swansea, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Catholic Memorial Home. She was the wife of Achilles C. Sperduti and they had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 30, 2012.
Born in Fall River, Anita was the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Emma (Paul) Belmore. Prior to her retirement, she was employed for many years by M&G Family Sportswear as a machine operator. Anita loved bingo, bowling, charity work and dancing with her husband who is a former Grand Knight for Knights of Columbus. Anita’s family and close friends would describe her as one of the funniest people they’ve ever known, with a big heart and always willing to help others at any time.
Survivors besides her husband include 2 sons: Ronald Therriault and his wife Carol of Jacksonville, FL and George Sperduti of Ocala, FL; 1 daughter: Wendy L. Sperduti-Ray and her husband Frank of Westport; 2 sisters: Lorraine Arruda and Georgette Barrett, both of Fall River; 4 grandchildren: Frankie Ray, IV, Nicole Castonguay, Troy and Terry Therriault; 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service for both Mr. and Mrs. Sperduti will be Saturday, August 11, 2012 at St. Dominic’s Church, Swansea at 9:30 A.M.
Anita was the grandmother of the late Tracy Therriault.
