Obituary

Alden D. “Sonny” Stewart 79, a lifelong town resident, died suddenly at his home on Friday July 6, 2012.
Born in Milford, August 16, 1932 a son of the late Harold D. and Ida E. (Lanagan) Stewart, he was raised and educated in Franklin. He was a retired mechanic for the Town of Franklin DPW. He was also a former call fireman, and a member of the Franklin Auxiliary Police.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He attained the rank of Sergeant and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1954.
He enjoyed spending time with his friends and loved to tinker with machinery, and maintaining his home, property and automobile.
He is survived by his sister Jeanne Henry of Raymond, Maine and 4 nieces. He is also the brother of the late Nancy L. Stewart, who died in 2010.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service Wednesday July 11th, at 11AM in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, www.oterifuneralhome.com. Interment with military honors will follow at the family lot in Union Street Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 10-11AM.
