John T. Duffy, 79
Former head of Lynn Electrical Department
LYNN — John T. Duffy, 79, of Lynn, died after a brief illness July 6, 2012, in a local nursing home.
Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late John G. and Helen T. (Talbot) Duffy. He was educated in the Lynn School System.
He started his own business, Duffy Electrical, in 1949. Mr. Duffy was the head of the Electrical Department for the City of Lynn from 1991-2007, and then returned to Duffy Electric.
He was a Social Member of the Knights of Columbus, Franco American Amvets and Order of the Hibernians.
He is survived by three sons, Stephen J. and his wife Mary, John P. Duffy and Daniel Duffy, all of Lynn. He was the beloved grandfather of Andrew, Brendan, Stephen, Dylan, Amy, Nicole, Jodi and John Duffy. He was the brother of Arthur Duffy of Barnstable, N.H. He also leaves his dear friend, Donna Comeau.
Service information: Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Nadworny Funeral Home, 798 Western Ave., Lynn, on Monday at 9 a.m. Mass of Christian burial in Sacred Heart Church at 10 a.m. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Lynn.
