TEWKSBURY - Richard A. "Dick" Bradanick Sr., age 72, died Friday evening, July 6, at his former residence in Tewksbury, surrounded by his loving family following a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Patricia E. (Hickey) Bradanick, L.P.N., with whom he had celebrated a 53rd wedding anniversary this past November 29th.
Dick was born in Milford, MA, on July 12, 1939, one of five children of the late John M. and Jennie (Taylor) Bradanick. He was raised in Milford, and attended Milford schools. He enlisted into the U.S. Navy, and served following the Korean War, prior to the Vietnam War. He lived in Tewksbury for forty years where he raised his family, and moved to Hampstead, NH, seventeen years ago.
He had a long career as a diesel mechanic, and following retirement he became a nursing assistant at Tewksbury Hospital for ten years, and most recently was a driver at Blaire house in Tewksbury.
He will be long remembered by his family and friends for his devotion to his family and love for his wife.
Besides his beloved wife Pat, he is survived by three children; Cheryl A. Brouillette and her husband Frederick of Amherst, NH, Richard A. "Rick" or "Dinny" Bradanick Jr., and his wife Lisa (Cipoletta) of Salem, NH, and Martha A. Grant R.N. and her husband David of Tewksbury; a son-in-law, Michael Abdinoor of Windham, NH, who was the husband of his late daughter, Joanne P. Abdinoor; seven adoring grandchildren, Joshua, Jarrod, Dendra, Caleb, Zachary, Alex, and Addison; two adored great grandchildren, Arabella and Ayden; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Joan (Morris) Bradanick of Tewksbury; Mary A. LaBossiere and her husband Jack of Wilmington, Kathleen Graham of Lowell, and Robert Hickey of Wilmington; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also brother of the late John W. Bradanick, Mildred Kurzontkowski, Philip W. Bradanick and Walter Bradanick, and brother-in-law of the late Thomas Hickey, and uncle and Godfather to the late Michael T. Graham.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, July 10, in St. William's Church, Tewksbury. Interment with Navy Honors was held Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorials to either; Greater Lowell VNA Hospice, 336 Central St., Lowell, MA 01852 or Lowell General Cancer Center, Attn: Development Office, 295 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA 01854, will be appreciated.
