Clyde A. Savage, Sr. age 84 of East Bridgewater, formerly of Brockton, died unexpectedly June 29, 2012. He was the husband of the late Mabelle (Eddy) Savage. Born and raised in Brockton, he was the son of the late Lewis and Elizabeth (Fantom) Savage. A graduate of Brockton High School, he also attended Northeastern University. During the Korean War, he served in the Navy. For over 30 years, he had been employed as an engineer at Quincy Shipyard, and retired in 1985. Clyde enjoyed music, playing piano and had been an organist at his church for many years. He also enjoyed travel, his cats and time with his family.
He is survived by two sons Clyde A. Savage, Jr. and his wife Carolyn and Charles F. Savage all of East Bridgewater; five grandchildren, Eric, Julie, Bonnie, Christina and Shannon; two great grandchildren; daughter in law Candace Savage; sister in law Cindy Savage; cousin Richard Savage and his wife Rita of West Bridgewater and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Duane C. Savage and brother of the late Earl, Lewis and George Savage.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday, July 10, 2012 from 4-7pm, followed by a prayer service at 7pm. Donations in Clyde’s name may be made to the MSPCA, 1300 West Elm St. Ext., Brockton, MA 02301, for online donations click here
