James J. “Jim” McIntyre, age 75 died July 2, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Manor after a brave battle with cancer. Jim was born in Upper Darby, PA and moved to Brockton, MA in 1969. He also lived in Whitman, MA. He was the fourth son of Thomas and Alice (Faulkner) McIntyre. After his mother passed away when he was 5 years old he was raised by his Aunts Cecilia, Ann and Sister Margaret CSJ. Jim graduated from West Catholic High School in 1955 and attended St. Joseph’s College in Philadelphia.
Jim worked as a credit manager for many corporations. He was the assistant vice president –regional manager of Finance America Corporation’s Private Brands Division in Whitman. He worked for many years at the Plymouth County Registry of Deeds and most recently he worked as a security guard at Signature Healthcare’s Medical Office. He had a great sense humor, loved a good joke, told a good joke and was avid with his crossword puzzles. He was a past member of the Brockton Jaycees; social member of the Bertocci Club, served on the Finance Committee in Whitman and was as a Cub Master
He is survived by his daughter Laura A. Galligan and her husband Patrick of West Bridgewater; his son Kevin J. McIntyre and his wife Maureen of Brockton; his brother John (Jack) McIntyre of Brea CA; his former spouse Eileen Weiss McIntyre; a niece Ellen Stefanosky; nephew’s Michael and Patrick McIntyre and several cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers Thomas and Neil McIntyre.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton, Monday 4-7pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Tuesday at 8am for a funeral Mass in Christ the King Parish at 9am. Burial Pine Hill Cemetery.
