John James Dyer
Augusta, GA – Mr. John James Dyer, 71, beloved husband of Sara Elvins Dyer, entered into rest on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, GA.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 7,2012 at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Chapel with Rev. Michael Lubinsky officiating.
Mr. Dyer loved going fishing and camping. He was a diehard New York Yankees fan. He will be remembered as a great husband, loving father and grandfather, and also a loyal friend.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Dyer is survived by his sons, Sean Dyer, and Joseph Dyer (Shannon); his daughters, Carrie Dyer (Douglas Percell), Mary Yurewitch, and Kimberly Thompson (Eric), and by his grandchildren, Joey, Theresa, and Shannon Dyer, Maxwell Percell, Michael Triggiano, and Joshua and Sarah Thompson.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
