Obituary

South Yarmouth – Paul A. Boucher 73, of South Yarmouth, and a former longtime Needham resident, died peacefully Monday morning July 2, 2012 at Jordan Hospital in Plymouth. He was the beloved husband of Nancy M. (Oteri) Boucher for 50 years.
Born in New Bedford, November 19, 1938 a son of the late Edward Boucher Sr. and S. Florence (Metiever) Boucher, he was raised and educated in New Bedford.
Mr. Boucher retired in 1998 from the Sears Roebuck Co. where he worked in sales for more than 38 years. He first worked at the main store in Boston, and then for many years at the store in Burlington, MA. He and his wife Nancy moved from Needham to South Yarmouth in 2000.
He enlisted in the Navy in 1955. He was stationed aboard many vessels, one of them in 1958 when he served off the coast of the Mediterranean Sea during the Crisis in Lebanon. He was honorably discharged in October 1959.
Paul and Nancy were married in Sacred Heart Church in Newton Center on May 12, 1962, and just celebrated their 5oth anniversary this past May.
Paul was a member of the Cape Cod Retired Men’s Club, enjoyed singing, and sang with many local choral groups. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, golf, and spending winters in Naples, Florida.
Surviving in addition to his wife are 3 children: Paul A. Boucher and his wife Carla of Medford, Terese M. Zaborowski and her husband Francis “Chip” of Littleton, and Cheryl A. Gibbons and her husband Daniel of Southbury, CT., 2 brothers Albert Boucher of New Bedford, Norman Boucher of New Jersey, his 8 adoring grandchildren who called him “Papa” Cameron and Audrey Zaborowski, Erin, James and Jack Gibbons, Marina, Kyan, and Nicholas Boucher.
He was also the brother of the late Edward Boucher Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Friday July 6th, at 11:15AM from the Morris, O’Connor & Blute Funeral Home 678 Main St. HARWICH to be followed by a funeral Mass in St. Pius X Church in South Yarmouth at 12Noon. Interment with military honors will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 2:15PM.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday July 5th, from 4-8PM.
