Larry Vernard Bentley, 42, of Ocilla died Sunday, July 1, 2012, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at Brookfield Baptist Church. Rev. Gary Cadwell will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Bryan Brown, Michael Arrington, Chad Barnes, Lloyd Barnes, Eddie Baker, Clay Knight, Michael Stone, Michael Barnes, Anthony Barnes and Steven Barnes will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Brookfield Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Bentley was born on September 5, 1969, in Tifton and was the son of Arma Jean Gray Bentley of Tifton and the late Vachel F. Bentley. He was employed with the City of Tifton at the Tift County Waste and Water Treatment Plant. He was a member of Brookfield Baptist Church and loved to fish and hunt and spend time with his nephews. He had lived his entire life in Tifton.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Bentley is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Felton and Katherine Bentley of Tifton; one sister and brother-in-law, Jennie and Tim Morris of Ocilla; one niece, Dana Bentley; three nephews, Gage Morris, Ethan Morris and Austin Morris; three step-nieces, Lakin Morris, Daniell Arrington and Tiffany Goff; one great-nephew, Jeremiah Brown; and two great-nieces, Marley Brown and Zoey Arrington.
