Margaret J. “Joanne” (Lavelle) Bove, a resident of Medford for more than 56 years and beloved wife of the late Anthony Bove, died peacefully at home on Saturday, June 30, 2012. She was 78 years old.
Born in Malden on December 25, 1933, she was a beloved daughter of the late Joseph P. and Meda M. (Patterson) Lavelle. Mrs. Bove worked as a bank teller for Cambridge Trust for more than 20 years. She was an avid sports fan, especially watching tennis. Mrs. Bove Loved reading and the beautiful lighthouses along the coast. She also loved cardinal birds, trains and tall ships. Above all Joanne was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She will be very sorely missed by her loving children; Patricia A. Bove and her fiance, Ron Metelka of Chicago, Illinois, Theresa A. Peters and her fiance, David Buckley of Tewksbury, Peter A. and his wife Karen R. Bove of Medford, Debra A. Bove and her fiance, Vaughn Kasabian of Woburn, Lisa A. Bove of Medford and Joseph P. Bove and his girlfriend, Lisa DeLucia of Woburn, sisters; Rita and her husband Claude Muzarol of Medford, Marie Battinelli of Somerville and Ann Gause. of Pennsylvania, cherished grandchildren; Michael, Jennifer and Kristina and brother-in-law; Richard Bove of N. Andover. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Lilli. She was also the devoted sister of the late Vicki McClellan.
Her funeral was held from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford at 10 AM. Visiting hours were Monday, July 2, 2012, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Donations in Joanne’s memory may be made to the American Lung Association, P.O.
