Paul A. Boates, 65, of Natick, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 29, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Nancy (White) Boates with whom he shared 42 years of marriage.
Born in Norwood, the son of the late Vincent and Margaret (Gibson) Boates, Paul was raised and educated in Natick. After graduating from Natick High School he went on to study at the College of Sante Fe in New Mexico. He was employed as a deli manager for Purity Supreme and Roche Brothers Supermarkets until his retirement in 2009. At the center of his life was his love of family, spending time with his children at their cottage in Duxbury when they were young and more recently being a cherished Grampa to his granddaughters. Paul also enjoyed fishing and boating.
In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his sons, Brandon Boates and his wife Kara of Mendon and Michael “Corey” Boates of Natick; his granddaughters, Margaret and Samantha; and his brother Peter Boates of Winter Haven, FL.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend Paul’s funeral service on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Fisk Memorial United Methodist Church, 106 Walnut St. Natick. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, July 2, 2012 from 4-7 PM in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St. (at Natick Common) Natick. Burial will be private. Those wishing to pay tribute to Paul are asked to register as organ donors.
