Obituary

Spencer – Paul F. LaPorte Sr., 88 of 22 Howe Village died on Wednesday May 5 in St. Vincent Hospital.

His wife F. Geraldine (Laverty) LaPorte died in 1998. He leaves two sons Paul F. LaPorte Jr. of Leicester and John F. LaPorte of Marston Mills, MA; a daughter Ann C. Allard of Coventry, CT; two brothers Alphonse LaPorte of Auburn and George LaPorte of Leicester; 5 grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. Mr. LaPorte was born in Worcester son of George J. and Lea (Donais) LaPorte.

Mr. LaPorte was a supervisor at Hope Cemetery in Worcester for 18 years retiring in 1974. He also was a patrolman for the Town of Spencer Police Department for 10 years. He was also the Town of Spencer's Parking Clerk and the director of Spencer Civil Defense Program for 5 years.

He was a member of St. Peter’s Church in Worcester and a 3rd Degree in the Knights of Columbus Alhambra Council #88. Mr. LaPorte belonged to the Reired State and County Municipal Employee Association and was a former 20 year member of the Worcester Police Auxilliary.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Peters Church 931 Main St. Worcester on Tuesday May 11 at 10 AM. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation 29 Crafts Street Newton, MA 02458.
