Lisa M. Groebl, 49, of Newton formerly of Torrington CT died suddenly on Monday May 3, 2004 from injuries received in a car accident.Lisa was a dedicated nurse and friend. She was a graduate of N. Western Community College and Westbrook College. She worked at Maine Medical Center and for the past 28 years had worked at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, where she mentored many students and nurses. She was an integral part of Brigham & Women’s HazMat operation and development, as well as a patient care coordinator in the Emergency Department. Lisa was known and loved for her good nature and keen wit. She always brought compassion and kindness to her patients and friends. She will be truly missed.Lisa is survived by her beloved friend Kristin Mackay of Newton, and her loving mother Alberta Groebl and brother Joseph Groebl and was daughter of the late Capt. Norman Groebl all of Torrington CT. She is also survived by numerous friends and co-workers at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital.Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St. Newton Corner on Thurs May 6 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and on Fri May 7 in the Gleeson Funeral Home 258 Prospect St. Torrington CT from 5-7 PM.
