...beloved Tewksbury mother, grandmother, great grandmother; 83
TEWKSBURY - Therese M. (DeRoche) Publicover, age 83, a resident of Tewksbury for nearly six decades, died Wednesday afternoon at the Lowell General Hospital, after a long period of declining health. Her daughters said, "Our mom, also known as Me'Me, Therese, Terry, Mrs. Pub and The Dunkin Lady, was a beautiful person inside and out. She was surrounded by love all her life because of the special person she was. She will be sadly missed by everyone." She was born in Haverhill, June 8, 1929, the youngest of 13 children of the late Ephrem and Mary A. (Gallant) DeRoche, and was raised in Haverhill. She attended parochial elementary and high schools in Haverhill. She moved to Tewksbury in 1954 to raise her new family, and was a communicant of St. William's Parish.
She worked for more than 25 years in electronic assembly in North Andover at Western Electric, which became AT & T, and later Lucient Technologies. Since retirement, she has worked at Dunkin Donuts Oakdale location in Tewksbury.
In her retirement years she was active at the Tewksbury Senior Center.
She is survived by her three devoted daughters, Linda M. Browne and her husband Michael of Exeter, NH, Janet M. Maglia and Joseph Mulcahy of Salem NH, and Michelle T. Derrah and her husband Sean of Tewksbury; six grandsons, Frederick M. Browne of NH, Scott G. Browne and his wife Melissa of NH, Thomas J. Maglia Jr. of NY, Michael J. Maglia of NH, Sean A. Derrah Jr and Justin R. Derrah both of Tewksbury; two great grandsons, Chance and Brendan; two sisters, Eleanor Hagerty of Nashua, NH, and Angie Sweeney and her husband Robert of Haverhill; a brother, Theodore DeRoche of Haverhill; three sisters-in-law, Mary DeRoche of Haverhill, Ethel Ford of Falmouth, Ellen Marie Dolan of Sudbury; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the former wife of the late Frederick A. Publicover III.
Her Memorial Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, July 3, in St. William's Church, Tewksbury. Memorials to the Alzheimer's Association of MA, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472 will be appreciated. Be sure to note "In Memory of Therese Publicover" in the memo line of your check.
