Obituary

Rob Reinhardt died Wednesday, June 27th, 2012 at his home.

A native of Tifton, he was born on March 1, 1954 to Bob and Mary John Reinhardt. After graduating as valedictorian and Star Student from Tift County High School, he attended the University of Georgia, where he was a member of the Young Alumni Council, Kappa Sigma Fraternity, Blue Key Honor Society and the Sphinx Club. He graduated magna cum laude and was later inducted into the Gridiron Secret Society. He received his law degree from the University of Virginia.

He returned home to practice law with his father at the firm of Reinhardt, Whitley, Summerlin and Pittman. Rob served on the State Bar Disciplinary Board for six years, and he was chairman from 1996-1998. He was President of the State Bar of Georgia in 2004-2005 and oversaw the construction of the new State Bar Center in Atlanta during his presidency. The same year, he was recognized by the Supreme Court of Georgia for his work on the Chief Justice’s Commission on Professionalism. He was also an active member of the Institute of Continuing Legal Education Board of Trustees, the Lawyers Foundation of Georgia, the Tifton Circuit Bar Association, the Bank Counsel Section of Georgia Bankers Association and Leadership Georgia.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Langstaff Reinhardt, and their three children; George (Ashley), Elizabeth and Sam; his mother, Mary John Rodgers Reinhardt and his two brothers, John (Kathy) and Bill (Lisa) Reinhardt.

Memorial services will be held at First United Methodist Church of Tifton at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2012, with visitation to follow in the church social hall. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Rob’s nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be past presidents of the State Bar of Georgia and the State Bar administrative staff; the South Georgia Bank directors; the Searchers Sunday School class and his law firm.
