BROWN, Dorothy F. (Dolan) Of Needham, beloved wife of the late F. Harold Brown, M.D. Loving mother of Francis H. Brown of Needham, Patricia Learnard and the late D. Susan O'Halloran and Richard J. Brown. Sister of Virginia Losano of Swampscott. Dorothy, a lovely woman who many true friends referred to as a saint, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon. Active in the Needham community for decades, she was president of St. Joseph's Church Guild from 1960-1962 and president of the Needham Chapter of the American Red Cross in the early 1960s. Dorothy continued her volunteer work for over 30 years at the Needham Community Council, as well as for special church events, including the Annual Christmas Bazaar. Choir was her passion, to which she brought her beautiful soprano voice, for 50 years at St. Josephs. During her husband's illness in the mid '60s, Dorothy began a 17 year career at Filene's in Chestnut Hill to sustain her young family. During holidays and special occasions, she baked delicious, candies and cake, and made an unforgettable cheese spread for her family and friends. How she managed all these activities is a testament to her dedication and love for her family and friends. What lay under her ever present and captivating smile was her love for others and her indominable spirit and desire to persevere. Funeral from the George F.
