...Korean War, U.S. Navy Veteran; 82
TEWKSBURY - Marcus "Fritzy" Donnay, age 82, of Tewksbury and Chelsea, and a Korean War Veteran, died Tuesday morning, June 26, at his Tewksbury home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Watkins, Minnesota, August 27, 1929, a son of the late Nicholas and Frances (Schreifels) Donnay, and was raised in Minnesota. He enlisted into the U.S. Navy, and served during the Korean War.
He was employed as a Truck Driver for Tewksbury Metals until his retirement.
He enjoyed fishing and the out doors.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Ruth (Glennon) Donnay of Virginia Beach, VA, and Mark and Maureen (Nanni) Donnay of Tewksbury, with whom he resided; eight beloved grandchildren, Jennifer Jones and her husband Kevin, Keith Donnay, Robert Donnay Jr., Angela Browning and her husband Roger, all of VA, Mark Donnay Jr., and Steven Mack both of Tewksbury, Shawna Donnay of Maine, and Leeann Grimes and her husband Timothy of Beverly; 12 great grandchildren; six sisters, Evelyn Decker, Ethel Hilsgen, Maryann Stonmes, Barbara Ruthann Kalkbrener, Bettyjean Helm, and Theresa Hettwer all of Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also brother of the late Gerald Donnay.
Visiting hours Thursday, June 28, from 4 to 7:30 in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, phone (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950. A Prayer Service will follow on Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
