Shirley A. (Richardson) Swallow, 74, of Norton, formerly of Naples, Florida and Shrewsbury, passed away on Sunday June 24, 2012 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of Philip B. Swallow, to whom she was wed on June 1, 1957.
Born in Worcester, MA on August 26, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Werner and Alita (Riel) Richardson. She grew up in Auburn and was a graduate of Auburn High School.
A retired real estate agent, Shirley was the owner of the former Swallow Realty Co., a business she had operated in Shrewsbury for over 20 years.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved spending time with her adoring family and was also an avid worldwide traveler.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her devoted children: Linda A. May of Blackstone, Philip S. Swallow of Virginia and Donna M. Biteye and her husband Ibrahima of Norton. The dear sister of Marjorie Hedlund of California, Marion Kravas of Florida, Mary Alice Zanazzi of Texas, Harold Richardson of Worcester and the late Verner Richardson, she is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Erica, Justin, Amanda, Joel and Abigal, great grandsons: Aidan and Lucas, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday, June 30th at 10:00 a.m. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Burial will follow in the Timothy Plain Cemetery, Norton.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday morning prior to services beginning at 9:00 A.M.
