CHELMSFORD - Suzanne (Feroleto) Shanley, age 49, a well known and beloved Bartender at the U.S. Bunting Club, died unexpectedly Sunday morning, June 24, at Lowell General Hospital, after suffering an apparent heart attack at her Chelmsford home late Saturday night. She was the beloved wife of Robert J. Shanley, with whom she had celebrated a 21st wedding anniversary this past October 7th.
She was born in Cambridge, April 18, 1963, a daughter of the late Barbara (Marchant) Feroleto, and Albert Feroleto of Lowell. She was raised in Billerica, and graduated from Billerica High School with the Class of 1981. She had lived in Chelmsford since her marriage.
She worked as a bartender at the U.S. Bunting Club in South Lowell, where she befriended all who met her, and ruled with a velvet glove. She served as an advocate and trusted friend on many of her customers behalf, serving and helping on her own personal time well outside the confines of the building. She helped many of her friends untangle the complications of their lives. She will be remembered for her quick smile and calming presence, by both her friends and family.
Besides her husband and father, she is survived by twin sons, Patrick and Joseph Shanley of Chelmsford; step sons, Robert Shanley of Nashua and Shaun Shanley and his wife Megan (White) of Lowell; step-mother, Patricia (DeCoste) Feroleto of Lowell; brother, Albert Feroleto Jr., and his wife Lisa (Patti) of Merrimac, MA; three sisters, Judy Sanford and her husband Jimmy of Dracut, Michelle Mazzeo of Chelmsford, Paula McGee and her husband Kevin of Tyngsboro; and many nieces and nephews.
A Prayer Servive was held Saturday, June 30, in the funeral home. Memorials to the Merrimack Valley VNA, 360 Merrimack St., Bldg 9, Lawrence, MA 01843 will be appreciated.
