Sartin S. “Stella” (Mukhalian) Moquin, 94, of Brockton, wife of the late Arthur J. Moquin, a bus driver for Eastern Mass. for over 35 years, died Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Good Samaritan Hospital after a brief illness. Stella was the daughter of the late Charles G. and Dorothea (Bystrinski) Mukhalian.
Born in Bridgewater and educated in Brockton, she was a resident of Brockton for over 85 years and a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. She had been a resident at Life care of West Bridgewater for the past four years. Mrs. Moquin was a retired seamstress and floor lady for 50 years in garment factories and also a life time member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
Stella is survived by her niece, Marilyn R. Thomas and her husband William and their son Kevin all of Brockton, her sister in law, Julia Mukhalian, three nieces Joanne Rice, Carol Mukhalian Schiavelli and Martha Eckerlin and grand nieces and nephews all of Washington.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Commander of the Navy, Zaven Mukhalian, Edward Mukhalian and Henry Mukhalian and stepdaughters, M. Jeannette Peloquin, Theresa Crest, C. Loretta Spooner and Lorraine Haddock.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Sunday 3 to 6 pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Monday at 8 am for a funeral mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9 am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery.
