SALEM - Geraldine L. (Foote) Burnett, 90, of Salem, wife of the late Samuel L. Burnett, died Monday, June 18, 2012 at the Peabody Glen Health Care Center, Peabody, following a long illness.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Christie (Cole) Foote.
Mrs. Burnett was employed at the Holyoke Mutual Insurance Company in Salem and J. F. Burnett Co in Peabody. She later worked for Naumkeag Trust Company which became Eastern Bank for many years and retired as the branch manager at the former Margin Street, Peabody location.
She was a lifelong and active member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.
Mrs Burnett is survived by two daughters, Nancy L. Burnett of Salem, Sandra L. and her husband Bernard Blanchard of Massena, NY, two sons, Norman S. Burnett of Salem, Laurence and his wife Coreen Burnett of Damascus, MD, nine grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, one sister, Dorothy E. Burak of Beverly, a sister-in-law, Gladys Foote of Belmont, NH and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, Ellsworth H. “Bud” Foote.
Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at 10 am in the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. Visiting hours are Tuesday, 4 to 7 pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial is in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
