TAUNTON – Delores (Garcia) Medeiros, wife of the late Dennis A. Medeiros, passed away due to complications from surgery at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Brighton on June 16, 2012.
She was 81.
Born in Tiverton, RI, the daughter of the late Manuel and Anna (Correa) Garcia, she attended Tiverton and Fall River schools.
A homemaker for most of her adult life, Mrs. Medeiros was a communicant of St. Nicholas of Myra Church in North Dighton and was an avid bingo player.
Survivors include seven daughters, Carol A. Benetti of Westport, Sheila Morse of Falmouth, Donna M. Perreault of Rehoboth, Sandra Mello and Sharon E. Medeiros, both of FL, and Cathy M. Perry and Denise Medeiros, both of Taunton; two brothers, James Tavares of Berkley and Dennis T. Garcia of Somerset; two sisters, Alice Cabral of Swansea and Pauline Dupere of Tiverton, RI; 19 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Friday, June 22nd at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Nicholas of Myra Church, North Dighton at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at Notre Dame Cemetery in Fall River.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
