Obituary

HOLYOKE – Susan M. “Sue” (Carlos) Pate, 60, of Holyoke, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, June 16, 2012. She was born in Norwalk, Connecticut on May 25, 1952, a beloved daughter of the late Robert L. Carlos, Sr. and Eleanor B. (Herman) Carlos. At a young age, she moved with her parents to Chicopee where she graduated in 1970 from Chicopee Comprehensive High School. She later lived for over 30 years in Tuscumbia and Muscle Shoals, Alabama before returning to Holyoke in 2000. She enjoyed playing pool and was active in local pool leagues. Her favorite movie was Titanic and she loved reading and spending time with her family and friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by: her beloved husband and best friend, Eddie Roscoe Pate, who was Called Home on April 7, 1998; and her loving brother, Robert L. Carlos, Jr., who was Called Home on January 26, 2012. She leaves: her loving sons, Rusty S. Pate and his wife, Christi, of Northport, AL and Tim L. Pate and his wife, Amber, of Killen, AL; her cherished granddaughters, Jaden and Haven Pate; her dear brother, William A. Carlos, and his wife, Kim, of Hampden, MA; her dear sister, Robin E. Provost, and her husband, Roland, of Chicopee; her dear sister-in-law, Carol Foster-Carlos, of Warren, MA; her dear fiancé, Gary Fontaine, of Holyoke; and her many dear nephews and nieces. Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of her family with burial at Tuscumbia Oakwood Cemetery in Tuscumbia, AL. Donations may be made in her memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
