George W. Corlin, age 57, of Brockton, died June 16, 2012 at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital following a period of failing health. He was the husband of Jean Marie (McGinn) Corlin for 29 years. Born in Somerville and raised in Burlington, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Margaret F. (Sherwood) Corlin. George was a graduate of Burlington High School. While serving in the Navy, he was stationed in Gulfport Mississippi and Sicily, and had been a longtime member of VFW Stoughton, SEABEE Chapter. For many years he had been employed by Air Balance Company in Burlington and South Shore Air Balance. George, who had a great sense of humor, loved his family, children and doted on his granddaughter Jessica Jean. He also enjoyed New England Sports, his Mustang and music.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Mary E. Corlin and George W. Corlin, Jr. both of Brockton, his granddaughter Jessica Jean McGovern, a brother Charles A Corlin and his wife Patricia of New Hampshire, two sisters Margaret Montalto-Blevins of Burlington and Sandra Harrington and her husband Michael of New Hampshire and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday 4-6pm with a prayer service at 6pm. Burial will be at a later date. Donations may be made in George’s name to the charity of your choice.
