TEWKSBURY - Stephen F. Brady. age 93, a retired employee of the E. N. Rogers Veteran’sAdministration Hospital in Bedford, died Sunday morning, May 2, at the Lawrence MemorialHospital in Medford, after a brief illness. He was the husband for 50 years of Jennie V. (Sdoia)Brady, who died in Sept. 1990.
He was born in Lowell, Jan. 10, 1911, a son of the late Martin and Nora (Healy) Brady. He wasraised in Lowell attended St. Michael’s School and Lowell High School. He had lived inTewksbury since 1956.
During WW 2, he served in the Army, Pacific Theater.
In his earlier years, he worked in Lowell’s Boote Mill and Massachusetts Mill. He retired fromthe Edith N. Rogers V.A. Hospital in Bedford, where he had worked as a barber and later as anursing aide.
He was an active member of the Tewksbury D.A.V. Post 110 in Tewksbury, and a member of theNational Commander’s Club. He was an avid Red Sox fan, and was also a former member of theSt. Francis Cribbage League in Dracut.
He is survived by one daughter, C. Christine Petrucci of Newcastle, NH, the director of theSeacoast Academy of Music in No. Hampton, NH; two grandchildren, Elaina Petrucci of NewOrleans, LA and Paul Petrucci and his finace, Erica McWain both of Newburyport, MA; twosisters, Nora Gambon of Chelmsford and Anne McMahon of Merrimack, NH; and numerousnieces and nephews, including, Mary Sperounis, Anna Currier, Pauline Halko all of Dracut, PaulaSdoia of Lowell, Christopher and Andrew Gambon both of Chelmsford, and Patty Mansfield ofW. Palm Beach, FL.
He was also brother of the late Bernard, Patrick, Jenny, James and Thomas Brady, Rev. Sr. MaryBrady, S.D., and Katherine Mahoney.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday, May 5, in St. William’s Church, Tewksbury. Interment with Army Honors was held atSt. Patrick's Cemetery, Lowell.
