CHICOPEE – Charles R. “Chuck” Snow, 87, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, June 13, 2012. He passed into Eternal Life at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family and his wonderful caregivers. He was born in Nashua, New Hampshire on August 2, 1924, a beloved son of the late Lloyd H. and Bertha (Horne) Snow. He was raised and schooled in Nashua and lived in the city for many years. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He then reenlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired from Westover Air Force Base in Chicopee in 1968 with the rank of Staff Sergeant. His military service brought him to the Chicopee area in 1965 where he resided until his passing. Following his military service, he was employed as a truck driver for the Johnson Insulation Company in West Springfield. Chuck was a member of the Westover NCO Club and during his leisure time enjoyed fishing and playing the Massachusetts State Lottery. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by: his beloved wife and best friend of 40 years, Elizabeth A. (Pepin) Snow, who was Called Home on September 9, 1998; his loving son, Charles R. Snow, Jr., who was Called Home on April 21, 2012; and his dear brother, Robert A. Snow. He leaves: his loving children, Susan M. Santerre and her husband, Robert, of Chicopee, Jo Ann Loveridge and her husband, Douglas, of Soddy-Daisy, TN, Patricia L. “Patti” Fradette and her husband, Richard, of Chicopee, and Kathleen G. Gregory and her husband, Kenneth, of Dover-Foxcroft, ME; his loving daughter-in-law, Cheryl Snow, of Milton, VT; his dear brother, Lloyd Roger Snow, of Florida; his 14 cherished grandchildren; his cherished great-grandchildren; and several dear nephews and nieces. There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His family has requested that memorial donations in his memory be made to the Holyoke Soldiers Home, 110 Cherry Street, Holyoke, MA 01040.
