Idalia O. (Oliveira) Medeiros, 77, of Dartmouth died Thursday June 14, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Guilherme Medeiros.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, Portugal, the daughter of the late Manuel and Teresa Oliveira, she moved to New Bedford in 1959 and had lived in Dartmouth for the past 30 years.
She was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church.
Mrs. Medeiros was formerly employed as a stitcher at Vanessa Manufacturing until her retirement.
Survivors include two sons, James O. Medeiros and Paul O. Medeiros and his wife Donaria, all of Dartmouth; two sisters, Delores Oliveira and Linda Ferreira, both of New Bedford; two grandchildren, Kayla and Dylan Medeiros; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Manuel Oliveira, Alba Mello, and Elizabeth Camboia.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM at St. Julie Billiart Church. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.
